Year 8 students find out more about Wee Critters
Ms Rowell, Head of Biology, writes: “Allan and his Wee Critters visited Shimna yesterday for his much-anticipated annual session, giving our Year 8 students a memorable encounter with real-life biology. The focus of the visit was the variety of life, and Allan certainly brought this theme alive through his engaging delivery and remarkable collection of animals. Throughout the sessions, students learned about key biological groups including invertebrates and their exoskeletons


Brownies for Brownies raises valuable funds
Well done to Lucy Shiells and Sarah Lennon for their initiative and dedication in organising a bake sale in support of Brownies and Rainbows earlier today. Canteen team put on a feast fit for Christmas
A massive thanks to our fantastic canteen team for today’s Christmas lunch, which was very much appreciated by students and staff alike. Thanks also to the extra help provided by LSAs in helping to turn things around for the two sittings.


Mixed fortunes for Shimna teams this week
A busy few days for our Netball and Gaelic saw great performances, albeit with mixed results. Ms Doyle writes: “We had a very enjoyable morning at St. Malachy’s HS. The Minors won their match but it was very close right to the final whistle. Star players were Zoe Astruc-Kidd, who playing as centre supplied great passes into the shooters, Amy Baker and Jane McAnallen. Isabella Mayers also had a good game and ably assisted, in the attacking play into the circle. Defence was led
